Client Stories

Specific outcomes from audits, rebuilds, and handover pairing.

“RiverBase rebuilt our vendor CSV ingest after three consecutive Friday-night failures. The new staging checks catch schema drift before the warehouse load starts — we still review the first week of logs together, which was worth the extra calendar time.”

— Priya N., analytics lead, Melbourne retail group · ETL Pipeline Engagement

“The health audit was blunt about our missing row-count thresholds. We had hoped for a lighter list of tweaks; instead they showed how empty extracts were still ‘succeeding’. That discomfort saved us a bad month-end close.”

— Daniel K., operations manager, Adelaide logistics firm · Pipeline Health Audit

“Handover pairing with our junior engineer before our senior left meant the Monday extract restarted without a frantic call. The runbook pages on late SFTP drops are still taped above the ops desk.”

— Mei L., platform lead, Brisbane membership organisation · Engineer Handover Pairing

Project note: retail vendor feed recovery

A Melbourne retailer received nightly product and price files from three vendors. One vendor changed column order without notice; the load job wrote misaligned prices into the warehouse for two nights before anyone noticed. RiverBase was engaged for an ETL Pipeline Engagement focused on that feed family.

Work included locking a vendor schema contract, adding staging validation for column names and null rates, and rehearsing a partial backfill. Cutover happened on a Sunday evening with the client’s on-call engineer present. Prices for the affected categories were corrected from staging before Monday trading reports ran.

Project note: warehouse load redesign for membership renewals

A membership organisation needed renewal facts at member-month grain but had been loading daily snapshots that doubled counts after mid-month corrections. Through Warehouse Load Design workshops we agreed keys, a correction-aware load sequence, and acceptance checks. Their engineers implemented the jobs; RiverBase reviewed pull requests and attended the first production load review.
